Our platform offers a seamless, transparent, and reliable process, empowering car owners to bring their classic, vintage, or specialty vehicles back to life with confidence.
How It Works
We provide a user-friendly online platform designed to connect car owners in need of automotive restoration with high-quality restoration shops across the country. The platform acts as an intermediary, allowing car owners to submit their projects and receive competitive bids from restoration shops. Owners will have the freedom to choose a shop based on their preferences, quality of work, timeline, and budget—without necessarily selecting the lowest bid.
The Process
1. Car Owner Submits Project:
Car owners submit a detailed description of their vehicle and the restoration work required, along with photos of the car’s condition (interior, exterior, engine, etc.). Owners will specify whether they prefer local, regional, or nationwide shops to bid on their project. Restoration shops can define the types of projects they want to bid on based on their expertise and preferences.
2. Restoration Shops Submit Bids:
Once a project is submitted, restoration shops will have 7 days to review the details, ask clarifying questions, and submit their bids. Each bid will include an estimated price, a timeline for completion, and a description of the work to be done.
3. Owner Reviews Bids & Communicates:
During the 7-day period, the car owner can communicate directly with the shops via the platform to ask questions, clarify any doubts, and request additional photos or information. The owner is encouraged to engage with shops to ensure accurate bidding.
4. Optional Expert Assistance:
Car owners can opt for an “Expert” consultation (for an additional fee) to help guide them through the bidding process. These experts are professionals with deep experience in the automotive restoration field and will provide personalized advice to the car owner.
5. Car Owner Selects Shop:
At the end of the 7-day period, the car owner will review all bids and choose the restoration shop that best meets their needs—whether based on price, quality, shop reputation, or timeline. The owner is not obligated to choose the lowest bid; they can choose based on what is most important for their specific project.
6. Finalizing the Agreement:
Once the car owner selects a shop, the details of the project are finalized. BuildMyCar.com facilitates the communication but does not take responsibility for negotiating contracts, payments, or overseeing the restoration work.
